The Lloyd’s Veterans Charity (formerly the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund) is one of the world’s oldest military charities. This 223-year-old grant-giving body exists to raise charitable funds from companies and individuals in the London insurance sector, then distribute them to applicant military charities. LVC works closely with the Lloyd’s & City Branch of the Royal British Legion and the Lloyd’s Military Network.
Following the Trustees’ decision to increase the charity’s profile in the London insurance community (and particularly its ‘retail’ presence), the organisation seeks the support of a part-time communications specialist.
The LVC Marketing Lead will drive the charity’s public-facing communications activities, particularly through digital platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook. Experience with these platforms is essential, alongside working competence in the use of relevant mainstream software, plus enthusiasm, responsiveness, and a way with words.
Candidates will be comfortable dealing with others to source, develop, and deliver content, and able to work largely unsupervised. They may have previously held a mid- or senior-level marketing or communications role. Charitable-sector and/or fundraising experience is desirable, but by no means a requirement.
This part-time, self-employed contract role is expected to require about one day per week (or equivalent; working-time flexibility is desirable), with significant scope to rise to multiple days. The successful candidate will provide their own workspace and connectivity, but computing equipment will be supplied. They will meet weekly via Zoom with the LVC’s Head of Communications & Engagement.
Pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
